April 2017:
We had a small team successfully compete at Young Rider Dressage Nationals in Taupo on 1/2 April. Several of our riders have now moved onto new horses so weren't able to compete at this competition and our riders that did attend were actually all either on new mounts or at a new level.
Bella Small had a cracker show winning 3 of 4 tests having stepped up to Level 2 with Kingslea Busy Bee (Romeo) to narrowly miss Level 2 Pony Champion to come in reserve champ. Bella is training Romeo herself and this is his first season of Dressage so its been a fabulous success for Bella.
Emily Townsend moved onto her new mount Te Mania Firebird (Phoenix) after he was sold from HOY so she only had 3 weeks to get to know him before attempting the U12's Championship class. The pair showed some great work and have huge promise so it was great to see them with consistent 3rd and 4th placings throughout the show. They will be stepping out at Level 1 from here on.
Georgia Bakker was given the opportunity to ride Chanelle's 'The Loveable Rogue' (Tommy) so had 2 weeks to get a crash course at Level 2 (where Georgia has not competed before) including learning Chanelle's musical. Tommy was a real gentleman for Georgia and they had some nice work in their tests. A highlight was placing 3rd in the Level 2 Musical.
Thank you to the parents and sponsors of the Team- without you we would be lost!

March 2017:
Horse of the Year was a simply wonderful competition for Team Beaumont. It was full of highs and lows, as these events always are, but we came out on top and it was a real thrill to see 3 HOY titles coming back to the Beaumont Camp.
In the Level 1 Pony Classes, Bella Small and Kate Eastgate were on form coming 1st and 2nd respectively in the warm up on Wednesday. Unfortunately, some interference ruined the end of Kate's test which knocked her score back and Bella had a few moments from Romeo which put them into 6th place. Friday, they were back on top however repeating the same fabulous result at Wednesday!
Bella was thrilled to win Level 1 Pony of the Year on Romeo with her consistent results.
This was an emotional competition for Kate as it was her very last event on Phoenix who was sold to Emily Townsend and was changing hands straight after HOY.

In Level 2, Bella competed her second pony, Glenwood Gloria, once again with fantastic results. The pair had a simply stunning win of their Level 2 Musical Freestyle on the Friday and placed 3rd overall in Level 2 Pony of the Year.
In Level 1 Hack, Jess Allsop had her first HOY with her lovely big boy, Regal Salvation, and they had some super tests in a very competitive field. With consistent scores, they sat around the 10th-12th place in each test to finish 11th overall Level 1 Horse of the Year.
For Level 2 hacks, Chanelle and Tommy had an uncharacteristic show where lots of things seemed to go wrong! There was some great work at times but wasn't their show unfortunately. The musical freestyle was a hugely competitive class and the pair only missed prize giving by a whisker slipping into 7th place. It was a real thrill however to receive their placing for the Zilco Musical Freestyle Level 2 North Island Series (which has been run over the 2016/2017 Season) of 3rd overall.
In the breed classes, Chanelle and Tommy had a win in their Ridden Purbred Gypsy Cob of the Year title for the second year in a row.

Stacy Kerrison and Dynasty, who was started at Beaumont Stables and is being produced by Stacy, had a fabulous win in the Partbred Gypsy Cob of the Year Title class. Stacy and Dyny had a dressage boot camp with Chanelle prior to HOY and made some massive progress which paid dividends in the title class work out where the judge was very particular on the horses working correctly.
