Livery Testimonial

In May 2015 I purchased a 8yo pony from Nelson and transported him up to Auckland, where we live.  The first few weeks went well, until he became very grass affected and his behaviour changed.  It became very clear that we needed help!  I called Chanelle Walsh, my daughters (Kate) trainer, who immediately said ‘bring him out, I can help’. What a relief that was to hear, he was loaded and out at Beaumont Stables the next day!

What was meant to be a 6 week stay for our lovely pony Phoenix, has turned out to be a permanent livery solution. Chanelle has worked with Kate on managing behavioural issues as they arose, has managed nutritional needs, and has strong working relationships with third parties that we can tap into as and when required to maintain a healthy and happy pony.

All paddocks at Beaumont Stables are equine fenced and are safe, clean and mucked out daily. My daughters pony loves company, and there are always plenty of other horses around. He absolutely loves it at Beaumont! There is a full size, well maintained, all weather dressage arena that has been fantastic during our wet Auckland winter.

As a High School student Kate is unable to ride every day, Chanelle and I communicate regularly and if Kate is unable to ride, Chanelle has always made sure that Phoenix is worked by either herself or one of the fantastic staff she has working at Beaumont no matter what the weather!

I can’t speak highly enough about the livery service at Beaumont and the professional approach and care given to the horses. Not only is Phoenix given the best of care and schooling but Kate also has her trainer on site if needed, to help, or just to talk to. There are other riders and parents coming and going which adds atmosphere to the environment, and a sport that can be a little lonely at times.

Kates’ confidence and ability has grown hugely over the last 12 months and has resulted in a sound rider/pony combination. Both Phoenix and Kate have total trust in each other and this could not have been achieved without the work that Chanelle has done with Phoenix, the happy and healthy environment Phoenix is in, and the support and training that Chanelle has given Kate. 

Although we live on a farm and have stables and yards ourselves, having Phoenix at Beaumont Stables provides Kate and Phoenix with the support and training that can’t be replicated at home!

I highly recommend Beaumont Stables and the livery service provided, and thank Chanelle for her hard work, fantastic communication and advice, commitment to the health and well being of Phoenix, and her big smile.
